He comes from a family of gardeners and florists, he grew up in the family company Zahradnictví u Kopřivů in Šebrov. He graduated from the Faculty of Horticulture at Mendel University in Lednice and studied at the CAH in Dronten in the Netherlands. During his studies, he completed an internship abroad with Dutch growers and exporters and at the English gardening center Coolings near London. He is currently engaged in services for corporate customers in the field of consulting and implementation of custom interior greenery and seasonal floral decoration. He also organizes flower workshops for the general public.
2004 – junior winner of the floristic competition Brněnská růže
2001 – 2014 - he works in the family garden, where he specializes in cut flowers and organizes client events such as pumpkin festivities and Christmas exhibitions.
2005 – the beginning of his collaboration with Dutch florist Peter Manders
2015 – estabilishing JAN KOPRIVA flowers plants events specializing in interior greenery and organizes flower workshops for the general public.
